The Assessor’s Office visited the Louisiana State Capitol during this year’s 2022 session, one of several team building activities scheduled for them throughout the year. As the deputies toured the Capitol, they were greeted by various Ascension Parish legislators who graciously took the time to share details of their responsibilities during the legislative session. The field trips to the Capitol were very informative and intriguing with its rich history.
Team building is a vital part of Assessor Smiley’s commitment to the professional development of his staff. The deputies also attend rigorous IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers) courses regularly to stay abreast of developments and trends in property valuation. Team building helps form interactive, supportive and high functioning teams that can better serve the public.
